If you’re getting the “YouTube Not Supported on This Device Fix” message when trying to run the YouTube app on your smart TV or Android TV box, it means you’re using an AOSP device, specifically one that uses the Allwinner chipset.

Recently, it has been reported that the official YouTube application will now only work on certified smart TVs and certified Android boxes. On other cheaper AOSP boxes available in the market, the official YouTube application will show you the same message: “YouTube Not Supported on This Device.”
However, you can still watch YouTube on your AOSP TV box or smart TV.
- How to watch YouTube on AOSP?
- You can download and install other apps from the Play Store.
- You can watch YouTube through a web browser.
Why did this happen?
I believe this might be an attempt to crack down on cheap AOSP TV boxes and smart TVs that use the Allwinner Chinese chipset, because these devices use unofficial TMS (Trusted Media System), which tracks the user’s location.
What is the solution?
I have just installed another app like Smart Tube, that was working fine.
