How to upgrade the firmware in HDS2-6303?

Latest Update on 8th June 2025 – This is good news: if you have a Solid HDS2-6303 Set-Top Box, you will receive the latest firmware update by August 20, 2023, using the online upgrade function. If you are not able to find an upgrade, then we will provide the upgrade dump software here.Last Update – 14th July 2018 – Most MPEG-2 set-top boxes available in the market are for FTA channel services. If you are using an MPEG-2 FTA STB, you can watch MPEG-2 free-to-air channels easily, but you cannot watch other MPEG-4/HD channels on this box.The MPEG-2 STBs cannot be used to view FTA channels, and you can not receive pay TV channels. There are lots of national chipsets available in the market. We have tried to change its firmware using another box’s firmware, which I have made available in the public domain.To manually upgrade this box, we need a few things like

USB drive
FTA STB that can be converted into an IPTV Box.

In the example below, I am using an FTA STB, model no HDS2 6303.The steps taken are depicted in the pics below –

Place the upgrade firmware on a USB drive
and place the USB drive in a USB slot in the box.
Go to USB upgrade under the menu

4. Select upgrade type as all 5.
